An article from the New York Times shows results from studies performed that show that out of 479 patients 62% has a significant response from acupuncture treatment, and only 45% to medicine.

It is good way to treat the disease. Acupuncture affects blood flow and metabolism in the brain, it affects the areas in the brain involved in chemical dependence, it modulates pain, and normalizes the autonomic nervous system and the stress response
